To help reduce the spread of coronavirus, we are asking students to carry out home Covid tests to identify anyone who is potentially carrying the virus, and prevent them from spreading it to others. Students have now been issued with testing kits to undertake this testing from home.
The key information about the testing process is shared below:
Students should undertake a Covid test at home every Sunday night and every Wednesday night, including during the Easter holiday period.
The step-by-step video instructions for taking the test can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvaBZskxS7tzQYlVg7lwH5uxAD9UrSzGJ .
All test results (positive, negative or void) need to be uploaded to the NHS track and trace website here: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
School should also be notified of any positive or void test results, via the school office on 01535 210 333. Please also send the school the test result notification/confirmation.
If you receive a positive result at home, you will need to book a confirmatory PCR test, and self-isolate for ten days. Tests can be booked here: https://www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result. If the subsequent PCR test returns as negative the student can return to school
Students aged 12-17 should do the test themselves with adult supervision.Students aged 11 must be tested by an adult and the adult must report the result.
