Inspire to Succeed

We are privileged to welcome guests from the world of business and enterprise to University Academy Keighley who are working with our Year 8 students on the ‘Inspire to Succeed’ programme.

BBC Radio Leeds journalist Aisha Iqbal joined Keith Madeley MBE (otherwise known as Mr Yorkshire), Beverley Hopper founder of Credere Solutions, Satvir Meen from the charity Global Diversity Positive Action and Mohammed Hussain proprietor of Pink Elephant, gave advice to, and fielded questions from, students.  Sharon Jandu, managing director of Global Enterprise Links, facilitated the event which will result in students learning about starting up and running their own business.

Students will receive guidance on all aspects of business, including project management, marketing, finance, leadership, team-work, etc. and will plan the set-up of their own business.

Our guests told us about their backgrounds, all very different, and about their journeys to where they are now.

Judging of students’ business projects will take place over the next two weeks, with the results announced early in July…….watch this space for news of the celebration event!
