Examination Invigilator

University Academy Keighley are looking to add to our bank of Examination Invigilators.  You will work as part of a team of invigilators who will ensure exams are carried out according to the JCQ regulations.

The main exam season is in May/June, there is a small exam season in November and March. School internal exams take place in January you will be required to supervise these exams.  Other exams take place throughout the year.  You will need to be available during the examination periods in November, January, March, May and June, on days agreed in advance.  You will also be required to attend an annual training session.

Duties include:-

  1. Assisting in the setting up of the examination room.
  2. Helping in the opening and distribution of question and other authorised materials to candidates.
  3. Supervising the orderly entry of students into the exam room and ensure that they are correctly identified and seated according to the seating plan.
  4. Dealing with late comers and candidates not on the candidate list.
  5. Starting examinations according to the regulations and ensuring that the examination regulations are observed throughout the exam.
  6. Maintaining active invigilation throughout the examination to ensure that no cheating occurs.
  7. Taking responsibility for a group of candidates when in the exam room.
  8. Ending exams in accordance with the regulations.
  9. Collecting exam scripts and arranging in candidate number order.
  10. Returning all exam scripts, unused papers, registers and other materials to the Exams Office immediately after the end of the exam.
  11. Maintaining security and confidentiality.
  12. Assisting in other activities as may be required by the centre from time to time.
  13. Assisting with on‐line testing, where some ICT experience would be essential.

The Venue@UAK – vacancy for Leisure Facilities Assistant     

Are you looking for a part-time job with flexible hours?

Hourly pay of £4.54 aged under 18, £6.27 aged 18 to 20, £7.90 aged 21 to 24, £8.40 aged over 25 (these rates all include holiday pay)

We are looking to add to our bank of Leisure Facilities Assistants.  You will work as part of a team of assistants who report to the Community Lettings Co-Ordinator and undertake reception duties.

Duties involve greeting customers and signing then in/out, guiding customers, answering the phone, replenishing information points and assisting the Duty Manager with booking systems and administration.

You will work within set systems and procedures, ensuring that the facility looks clean inside and outside, and set up, dismantle, move and store equipment within the guidance of policies and procedures.  The role requires providing effective customer care, and the reporting and recording damage/incidents/issues.


Duties include:

  • Ensuring that activity areas and equipment are set out and put away in accordance with daily booking/changeover sheets
  • Ensuring that equipment is dismantled, moved and stored as required on a day to day basis, as per policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a clean facility for the customers and school provision the following day by completing regular spot checks, litter picking, undertaking cleaning duties both inside and outside the facility
  • Providing high standards of customer care in order to promote the campus, helping customers, answering questions and provide directions to customers in the centre, as a key member of ‘front line’ staff
  • Use of a spreadsheet to complete up to date records of attendance.
  • Adhering to UAK and Amey procedures and policies, including training, completing records, cleaning schedules and reporting incidents and accidents.
  • Attending in-house and external training as and when required
  • Answering the telephone and recording messages for the Duty Manager/Management Team
  • Assisting the Duty Manager to setup and maintain booking systems and rotas
  • Assisting the Community Lettings Co-Ordinator with publicity and marketing and monitoring and feedback from participants.
  • Assisting clubs based at UAK with administration duties
  • Ensuring administrative systems are in place e.g. signing in sheets, registers
  • Ensuring all bookings have completed paperwork as per UAK policy.
  • Selling snacks and drinks to the public, using the cash register and issuing receipts.
  • Maintaining the website and making sure all details are up to date.
  • Setting up information points and replenishing stock

  • Flexibility and the ability to use your initiative
