University of Bradford formalised its partnership with the Academy at a ceremony on Friday, 5th May, which saw the signing of a new partnership between University Academy Keighley and the University of Bradford.
The strengthening of links has been welcomed by Principal, Bernie Addison who stated: “In the current education climate it is great to get a respected institute like the university re-affirming its support for the school. The main thing is the aspirations of the children of this community. It provides that important link between secondary education and higher education.”
Caroline Priestley, UK and EU recruitment officer at the University of Bradford said:
” We are delighted to be able to formalise the partnership. It means we can build on our support to students with their progression to higher education. This agreement ensures UAK will be at the front of the queue for our outreach work – including academic workshops and reserved places on our summer school. We are looking forward to working together and watching more UAK students graduate in the future.”
Joanne Marshall, director of human resources at the University of Bradford, stated that the school was already on a “trajectory of improvement” and added: “We have an exciting strategy to move the academy forward.”
